Biography

Bob Stupar concentrates his practice on lending and servicing of commercial real estate conduit and balance-sheet loans secured by apartment buildings, shopping centers, strip malls, hotels, warehouses, residential developments, office buildings, and other types of commercial real estate. He regularly represents banks, master servicers, special servicers, CLO issuers, CMBS trusts, insurance companies, and other lenders with respect to commercial real estate loan originations, loan restructurings, loan modifications, loan assumptions, CMBS and CLO securitization compliance, SASB loan servicing, co-lender, loan participant and intercreditor issues, property leasing, property management, zoning, land use, workouts of non-performing commercial real estate loans (forbearances, discounted payoffs, deeds-in-lieu, note sales, receiverships, foreclosures, and the exercise of other secured creditor remedies), and real estate sales. 

Bob is a frequent speaker at local and national legal and finance industry events in connection with this practice. He speaks French, Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian, and also has basic knowledge of Japanese language.

  • Represented lender and master servicer with addition of $130 million in loan collateral with respect to a $1.3 billion loan secured by multi-state warehouse assets.
  • Represented senior lender and special servicer in a workout of a $350 million loan secured by hospitality properties, including negotiated workouts with mezzanine lenders.
  • Represented lender and special servicer in a borrower bankruptcy related workout of a $1.2 billion loan secured by an office building.
  • Represented lender and special servicer in a borrower bankruptcy related workout of a $240 million loan secured by an office building.
  • Represented lender and special servicer in borrower litigation and subsequent settlement regarding a $91 million loan secured by apartment buildings.
  • Represented lender in a workout of a $275 million loan secured by an office building.
  • Represented lender and special servicer in a workout, foreclosure, and subsequent sale of an REO office campus securing a $30 million loan.
  • Represented lender in origination of a $40 million loan secured by an apartment building.
