Biography

Mckenna is a multifaceted attorney in the firm’s Tax, Employee Benefits, and Private Client practice group, focusing her work on employee benefits and executive compensation matters.

Mckenna provides comprehensive counsel to public and private companies, non-profit organizations, churches, and governmental entities on a diverse range of benefits and executive compensation matters. She provides guidance on structuring compensation plans, ensuring regulatory compliance, and addressing complex issues in all aspects of retirement, health and welfare, and compensation issues. Her expertise and experience of these areas ensures that clients receive knowledgeable and well informed counsel.

Additionally, Mckenna plays a vital role in the employee benefits and executive compensation aspects of mergers and acquisitions, conducting detail oriented due diligence to identify and address potential risks. Further, Mckenna provides ongoing advice on issues under the purview of the IRS, DOL, PBGC, and state and local governments.

Mckenna graduated summa cum laude from Saint Louis University School of Law, where she was a Note and Comment Editor for the ABA Journal of Labor and Employment. Her dedication to her studies was evident through her academic achievements and leadership roles. She earned dual B.A.s in International Studies and Spanish, also summa cum laude, from the University of Mississippi. Mckenna initially joined the firm as a Summer Associate in the St. Louis office, where she began to build her experience in the field and demonstrated her commitment to excellence.

On April 22, 2024, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”) issued new regulations under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) that impose new restrictions on the use and disclosure of “reproductive health care” by covered entities, including employer-sponsored health plans. These changes will require most employer-sponsored health plans to update their HIPAA policies and procedures and training practices by December 23, 2024 their Notice of Privacy Practices by February 16, 2026.
