Biography
Lou Spelios has a global transactions practice which focuses on buy-side mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. Mr. Spelios' clients are public and private corporations, including private-equity-backed enterprises and private equity funds. Mr. Spelios assists clients in negotiating and implementing these transactions, with the help of a team of other BCLP specialists tailored for each transaction. Mr. Spelios is recognized by The Best Lawyers in America in the area of mergers and acquisitions law. He also has been listed as a leading lawyer for mergers and acquisitions in Chambers USA.

- Reverse Morris Trust spinoff of client Berry Global Group, Inc.'s (NYSE: BERY) health, hygiene and specialties division to Glatfelter Corporation (NYSE: GLT) for $3.6 billion.
- Acquisition of RPC Group PLC (LSE: RPC) by client Berry Global Group, Inc. (NYSE: BERY) for $6.5 billion.
- Acquisition of Avintiv, Inc. by client Berry Global Group, Inc. (NYSE: BERY) for $2.45 billion.
- Acquisition of AEP, Inc. (NASDAQ: AEPI) by client Berry Global Group, Inc. (NYSE: BERY) for $765 million.
- Acquisition of Clopay Plastics Products Company, Inc. from Griffon Corporation (NYSE: GFF) by client Berry Global Group, Inc. (NYSE: BERY) for $475 million.
- Acquisition of Laddawn, Inc. by client Berry Global Group, Inc. (NYSE: BERY)
- Merger of Epiq Systems and client Document Technologies, LLC for $1 billion.
- Recapitalization of client Document Technologies, LLC by OMERS Private Equity.
- Sale of client Shaw Industries Group Inc.’s Spectra Contract Flooring division to Diverzify+ LLC, a portfolio company to ACON Investments.
- Acquisition of all of the capital stock Heikenen Services, Inc. and its related entities by client Ploeger Oxbo Holding B.V.
- Acquisition of all of the capital stock of Westside Equipment Co. by client Ploeger Oxbo Holding B.V.
- Sale of client Altisource Portfolio Solutions S.A.'s (NASDAQ:ASPS) financial services business to Transworld Systems, Inc.
- Acquisition of Equator, LLC by client Altisource Portfolio Solutions S.A. (NASDAQ: ASPS) for $70 million, plus a potential $80 million earnout.
- Acquisition of US Floors, Inc. by client Shaw Industries Group, Inc.
- Sale of client Terafina Inc. to NCR Corporation.
- Sale of client Skinner auction house to Bonhams.
- Acquisition of the Legal Services Division of Merrill Corporation by client Document Technologies, LLC.
