Biography
Joel Lander is the regional leader of the firm’s Global Corporate & Finance Transactions Department. Joel concentrates his practice in the areas of business and transactional counseling. He regularly leads the legal negotiation and execution of transactions for individuals and corporate clients buying and selling businesses in the U.S. and across the world. Joel also regularly advises a variety of public and private company clients and private business owners in a broad range of complex business transactions and related matters, including; corporate and limited liability company structure and formation, public and private sales of debt and equity securities, contractual matters; corporate formation and governance matters; and general business and securities law matters.
He has experience with companies in a broad range of industries, including process controls, network power, climate technologies, cargo management, agriculture, manufacturing, transportation, technology, life sciences, private equity and consumer goods.
Prior to joining the firm, Joel was an associate in the New York office of another law firm.

- Emerson Electric Co. on numerous domestic and cross-border acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures, including recent acquisitions in the areas of “cold chain” cargo management, process management and climate technologies.
- Monsanto in connection with multiple domestic and cross-border acquisitions and divestitures.
- PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in connection with multiple corporate transactions and related matters.
- Cvent, Inc. in connection with numerous acquisition and divestiture transactions.
- Maschhoff Family Foods, LLC in connection with its M&A and general corporate matters.
- Express Scripts Holding Company in connection with acquisition, divestiture and joint venture transactions
- Several private equity funds in connection with their formation and investment activities.
- The Board of Directors of RehabCare Group, a publicly-held provider of rehabilitation program management services, in connection with its $1.3 billion sale to Kindred Healthcare.
- The Board of Directors of Thermadyne, a manufacturer of industrial products, in connection with its $422 million sale to Irving Place Capital.
- International Paper Company, Victor Technologies, Nidec Motor Corporation and MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc. in connection with various merger and acquisition transactions.
- Slicehost in its sale to Rackspace.
