Biography
Derryn is client-focused and solution-oriented, committed to helping clients deliver and execute their M&A transactions and strategic investments in a pragmatic and efficient manner.
Derryn deliberately maintains a practice dedicated to M&A, servicing both private and listed clients in the UK and abroad and has experience across both domestic and cross-border (inbound and outbound) M&A transactions of varying kinds, including fundamental acquisitions or disposals, schemes of arrangement, take-privates and tender offers.
Derryn has acted for both sell-side and buy-side clients in their M&A processes and has experience in both bilateral and auction processes, many involving multijurisdictional considerations in regulated industries.
Prior to joining BCLP, Derryn worked in the Johannesburg office of a leading African law firm. In this position he gained experience acting for multinational clients in their inward investments into and exits from Southern Africa, West and East Africa, which experience continues to be useful to clients who appreciate his “on-the-ground” knowledge and relationships.
