Biography
Taegon Kong is an intellectual property and technology lawyer who focuses on all phases of patent litigation from pre-litigation to trial, trying cases in federal district courts and at the International Trade Commission (ITC). He holds experience in navigating validity and infringement issues surrounding wireless communication standards including LTE, WiMax and WiFi. Taegon also has experience in licensing arrangements, including joint development and spin-off agreements associated with universities and in the purchase and sale of patent portfolios opposite small companies and Fortune 100s alike. He is often credited with the development of winning strategies through litigation and transactions that include tackling non-practicing entities, post-trial negotiations, and negotiating with patent owners.
Prior to joining BCLP, Taegon worked at LG Electronics in Seoul, Korea for over a decade, handling many cutting-edge technology and communication matters to date. He also contributed to the development of 4G wireless standards, inventing and issuing 12 U.S. patents under his name involving popular SEP standards. Taegon holds a bachelor in electronic engineering and a master’s in electrical engineering and computer science. Taegon is fluent in English and Korean.
