Biography
Stephen Strauss is the Leader of the firm's Product Liability Client Service Group and an accomplished trial lawyer with cases tried to verdict in 10 states and numerous federal courts. He serves as Leader of the firm's Catastrophic Accidents Mass Tort Team. Mr. Strauss’ litigation and trial practice focuses on complex product liability and commercial matters, including class actions, Multi-District Litigation (MDL), mass torts and consumer fraud claims. He also handles Media and First Amendment issues and is a former working journalist, as well as a Journalism and Media Law instructor. He has extensive experience with civil and product liability litigation, including auto manufacturers, power tool companies, gas and electrical appliances and valves, and industrial machinery; as well as their related component part manufacturers. Mr. Strauss also has managed mass tort litigation and has significant experience working with epidemiologists, pathologists, oncologists, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists and other scientists and medical specialists that provide crucial support and testimony in complex product liability and medical device cases. He has handled cases as lead attorney and as part of an experienced BCLP trial team and also is regularly involved in work as part of a national trial team in conjunction with other top U.S. law firms.
