Biography

Marc brings a wealth of experience in complex litigation, investigations, and regulatory matters.

He has a strong focus on the financial services sector, representing a diverse range of financial institutions, including banks (investment, retail, and commercial) and buy-side businesses.  Marc also has deep experience of corporate and commercial litigation, and of the Asian region having been Asia Head of Litigation for another global law firm.  He also has experience of the internal dynamics of international financial institutions, having done two secondments to Barclays Bank.

Marc is described in directories as “outstanding”, “praised for a wealth of experience in retail and wholesale banking litigation”, and as “extremely impressive.  He has exceptionally good tactical sense and can see the best points immediately.  He is also charming and wonderful with clients.  A real star.

Marc’s experience of corporate litigation includes M&A disputes, breach of warranty claims, directors’ duties issues, completion account disputes, shareholder disputes and earn out entitlement disputes.

  • Defending a $6bn fraud claim against an international bank, in the Abu Dhabi Global Markets and London courts.
  • Acting for an international investment bank in litigation involving complex autocall structured products.
  • Acting for a financial institution in complex sanctions-related litigation, and in a sanctions-related regulatory investigation.
  • Leading an investigation into the delta one/total return swap business of a leading Asian bank.
  • Leading a major and sensitive conduct investigation for a global financial institution.
  • Conducting an insider dealing investigation for a large international alternative investment firm.
  • Acting for an international financial institution in a dispute over the interpretation of ISDA master documentation in the context of lookalike swaps.
  • Advising a major financial institution on a significant retail mis-selling issue, including navigating complicated regulatory, complaints and redress aspects.
