Laura Hoffstetter has extensive litigation and transactional experience. She manages high-volume, multi-state litigation for mortgage servicing clients and lending institutions. Her depth of knowledge in the area of financial services litigation enables her to guide attorneys in developing strategies to expedite resolution and best-practices for litigation in various jurisdictions. Ms. Hoffstetter also handles business and commercial dispute litigation and toxic tort matters.

Ms. Hoffstetter managed large litigation projects for several practice areas in the firm: banking, commercial litigation, class and derivative actions, real estate, tax controversy, antitrust, labor and employment, white collar defense and intellectual property. Additionally, she assisted the private client and tax groups on transactional matters. Ms. Hoffstetter is certified in International Business German; her language skills have been utilized in several cases that involved multi-national companies.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hoffstetter focused her practice on the defense of asbestos-related claims as an associate for a Madison County, Illinois firm. In her own private practice, she handled contract and real estate issues for corporate clients and estate planning for individuals. Ms. Hoffstetter interned for a global risk management and insurance intermediary during the LL.M program. Ms. Hoffstetter was a research assistant for a dean in the business school while attending law school and taking business classes for her masters.
