Biography

Karin Barkhorn is highly experienced in all areas of estate planning, estate administration and Surrogate’s Court litigation. She assists clients in predeath planning by structuring estate plans, drafting wills, revocable trusts, life insurance trusts, other lifetime trusts and charitable planning. She advises clients in connection with post-death estate administration and the litigation that frequently arises, including will contests and contested accounting proceedings.

Ms. Barkhorn is vice chair of the Estate Litigation Committee of the Trusts & Estates section of the New York State Bar Association and she is a member of the Estate and Gift Tax Committee of the Association of the Bar of New York City.  She is a frequent lecturer and author on various topics involving estate planning and Surrogate’s Court litigation.
