Biography

Ashley Kim is a member of BCLP's Antitrust and Competition practice. Ashley has represented clients on both the plaintiff and defense side in high-stakes and complex antitrust litigation. Ashley has helped successfully pursue claims arising from foreign purchases under the Foreign Trade Antitrust Improvement Act (FTAIA) in multidistrict litigation.

Ashley also represents clients in general and complex commercial litigation. Ashley assists clients through all stages of federal and state litigation, including discovery, motion practice, alternative dispute resolution, and appellate practice.

Ashley earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where she served as Executive Articles Editor of the Northwestern Journal of Human Rights and worked in the Center on Wrongful Convictions of the Bluhm Legal Clinic. Ashley also served as a Certified Mediator through Northwestern Law’s mediation program with the Center for Conflict Resolution and mediated cases in Illinois state courts. Prior to law school, Ashley worked for a large electronics conglomerate in Seoul, Korea.

Ashley has extensive experience responding to third-party subpoenas. In particular, she can advise you on:

  • Will you be successful in adding further layers of confidentiality?
  • How can you limit the access of parties’ employees to your documents?
  • Will you be able to limit outside counsel’s access to your documents?
  • Is complete inaccessibility by parties’ employees to your documents achievable?
  • How to make sure you know who exactly will see your documents?
  • Will you know if the government wants to use your documents outside of the current lawsuit?
  • How can you obtain notice from the parties if your documents are being used publicly?
  • What will happen to your documents at the end of a lawsuit?
