David Aigner-Kunstler
Biography
David Aigner-Kunstler advises clients on zoning regulations and the practices of New York City’s land use agencies, performing in-depth zoning and property research and highlighting potential regulatory risks associated with the development of a property. He employs a problem-solving approach when crafting arguments for policy interpretations to the NYC Department of Buildings and prepares applications for special approvals to the NYC City Planning Commission and NYC Board of Standards and Appeals.
David brings ten years of experience navigating the intersection of the NYC Zoning Resolution and real-world development potential, having served as Senior Zoning Specialist at the NYC Development Hub and Senior Planner in the Zoning and Urban Design division at the NYC Department of City Planning. Immediately prior to joining the firm, David served as a Director of Planning & Development at another international law firm. Firm clients benefit from David’s rare perspective of having written sections of the Zoning Resolution, interpreted the Zoning Resolution while at the Department of Buildings, and advised clients on the Zoning Resolution in the private-sector.
