St. Louis Partner Lisa Van Fleet will lead a webinar May 19 regarding recent changes, new developments and ways to navigate employee benefit needs under COVID-19.

Van Fleet will address the effect of COVID-19 on health plans, retirement plans and compensation limitations. She will detail the SECURE Act (Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement Act of 2019); FFCRA (the Families First Coronavirus Response Act); the CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act); as well as any new legislation passed by May 19. Attendees will learn which plans are impacted by legislative changes, which changes are optional and which are mandatory. They also will learn where to find assistance to implement required changes.

Van Fleet counsels clients with respect to design, drafting and administration of retirement plans, welfare benefit plans, fringe benefits, bonus and equity-based compensation and executive compensation. Clients range from Fortune 100 companies to privately held companies, as well as tax-exempt and educational organizations. She is a frequent author and lecturer on ERISA and served for many years as an adjunct ERISA law professor. She is a fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel and has leadership roles with both the ABA and the Tax Exempt and Government Entities organization (TEGE).
