BCLP recently announced that Partner Courtney J. Peterson has been named a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) 2022 Fellows Program, a landmark program created to identify, train and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession. 

Additionally, Associates LaDawn Burnett and Meredith Silliman were selected to participate in the LCLD Pathfinder mentoring program. This program is designed to train early career attorneys in critical career development strategies, including leadership and the building of professional networks.

Courtney is a partner in BCLP’s Business and Commercial Disputes, Financial Services and Disputes Investigation and Labor and Employment Practice Groups, where she handles litigation involving complex business transactions, commercial contract disputes, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, financial services disputes, employment disputes, and fiduciary duties of trustees and executors. She regularly represents clients in state and federal proceedings in both New York and New Jersey.

LaDawn is a member of the Class Actions and Sports and Entertainment Practice Groups. Her experience includes commercial and class action litigation as well as arbitration matters. LaDawn has also advised clients regarding litigation-related aspects of corporate transactions. She has assisted clients in a variety of sectors, including financial services, energy, health care and sports.

Meredith practices in the area of Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation, focusing on retirement, health and welfare, and executive compensation issues. She assists clients with drafting, implementing, maintaining, and terminating employee benefit plans; negotiating and drafting executive compensation programs and agreements; advising with respect to the employee benefits and executive compensation aspects of mergers and acquisitions; and addressing ongoing compliance concerns with the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor.w

The organization’s programs are designed to attract, inspire and nurture talent, thereby helping a new and more diverse generation of attorneys reach positions of leadership. 

BCLP has been a member of LCLD since its inception and has been named one of the LCLD Top Performers every year since 2016. The annual designation goes to those LCLD members who have committed the most time and energy to participating in LCLD programs. The firm has had a partner or attorney in the LCLD Fellows Program each year and was an early participant in the LCLD Pathfinder Program. In addition, the firm has participated in the 1L LCLD Scholars Program each year since 2013 and has joined the annual LCLD Success in Law School Mentoring Program since 2012.
