Three from Firm Named to 2020 LCLD Programs
Feb 20, 2020BCLP recently announced that Irvine Partner Kamao Shaw has been named a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) 2020 Fellows Program, a landmark program created to identify, train and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.
Additionally, Los Angeles/Atlanta Associate Christian Bromley and New York Associate Matías Gallego-Manzano were selected to participate in the LCLD Pathfinder mentoring program. This program is designed to train early career attorneys in critical career development strategies, including leadership and the building of professional networks.
Shaw, a member of the firm’s Real Estate Finance Practice, works with clients that include developers, private equity investors and lenders of all types. He has particular experience in financing, joint ventures, acquisitions, leasing and litigation management covering all asset classes, including office, residential, industrial and retail.
Bromley is a litigator focused on complex commercial contract and business tort disputes involving corporate transactions, insurance, financial services and a variety of consumer disputes. He also has a commitment to pro bono work and has participated in a number of high-profile matters, including an on-going capital post-conviction proceeding, prominent Voting Rights Act litigation, and state and federal constitutional challenges brought in partnership with Lambda Legal.
Gallego-Manzano handles litigation involving complex business transactions, commercial contract disputes, contested foreclosures and commercial landlord-tenant disputes. He also serves a variety of pro bono clients, including providing corporate governance advice to a nonprofit serving underprivileged communities in Cali, Colombia, and also has represented individuals facing deportation from the United States.
Founded in 2009, LCLD is a growing organization of more than 320 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a truly diverse legal profession. The organization’s programs are designed to attract, inspire and nurture talent, thereby helping a new and more diverse generation of attorneys reach positions of leadership.
Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner has been a member of LCLD since its inception and has been named one of the LCLD Top Performers every year since 2016. The annual designation goes to those LCLD members who have committed the most time and energy to participating in LCLD programs. BCLP was also honored this year to be selected as an LCLD Compass Award winner. The firm has had a partner or attorney in the LCLD Fellows Program each year and was an early participant in the LCLD Pathfinder Program. In addition, the firm has participated in the 1L LCLD Scholars Program each year since 2013 and has joined the annual LCLD Success in Law School Mentoring Program since 2012.
