A central topic of discussion for all business owners, both large and small, is how to reopen and operate during a pandemic without being sued by customers, vendors or employees for COVID-19 exposure. Local and national legislation is changing daily, leaving business owners with questions. To help with answers, St. Louis Partner Bettina Strauss will present in the American Law Institute (ALI) CLE webcast “Mitigating COVID-19 Liability: Waivers and Other Risk Management Tools” on Oct. 13.

This 90-minute webcast will provide suggested practical steps a company can take to avoid COVID-related liability, with a focus on the viability of waivers and the contexts in which they can and cannot be used with customers, vendors, employees and others.

Strauss focuses her practice at BCLP on the defense of companies facing liability in connection with products in all types of proceedings including consolidated actions, MDL proceedings and class actions. She has experience on national and regional counsel teams in both product liability and product-related class actions. Strauss has worked with lawyers throughout the United States and on many cooperative teams with other firms, including multifirm trial and defense teams. She is a member of the prestigious Product Liability Advisory Counsel and has defended product cases for a wide variety of companies in industries including automotive, pharmaceutical, child-products, medical devices, chemicals, industrial equipment and many consumer products.
