Rob Crea joins BCLP as U.S. Head of Fund Formation
New partner brings deep experience as a private funds, venture capital and digital assets specialistApr 12, 2023International law firm BCLP announced today that Rob Crea has joined the firm as a partner, resident in the San Francisco office. He will work within the Corporate Transactions Practice as the firm’s new U.S. Head of Fund Formation.
Rob is a well-known practitioner in the private funds arena with deep experience in a broad variety of investment products, including real estate, venture capital, private equity and hedge funds. He regularly counsels investment advisers, private fund managers, broker-dealers, pension plans and other institutional investors on fund formation, product structuring, regulatory and compliance, performance presentation and securities law matters. Rob is knowledgeable regarding a variety of state and federal regulatory and compliance issues affecting private fund sponsors including, particularly, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, as amended, and the Investment Company Act of 1940, as amended.
In addition to his private funds work, Rob often guides venture investors and pre-IPO companies on general corporate matters, financings, and mergers and acquisitions. Since 2016, he has counseled clients and been a frequent author and public speaker on securities law matters affecting digital asset offerings and the digital assets industry.
