San Francisco Partner Rachel Matteo-Boehm participated in a recorded interview with Frank LoMonte, professor and director of The Brechner Center for Freedom of Information, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, on March 17. The discussion covered First Amendment litigation involving client Courthouse News Service, focusing on the decade-long Courthouse News Service v. Planet case that was finally resolved by the Ninth Circuit last year, as well as the law underlying the First Amendment right of access to court records. The interview was recorded for the University of Florida’s undergraduate course Law of Mass Communications.

Matteo-Boehm is co-leader of BLCP’s Technology and IP Disputes Practice Group as well as co-leader of BCLP’s Media & First Amendment Team. A former reporter for The Dallas Morning News, she has spent almost her entire legal career helping clients both inside and outside the media industry solve their First Amendment speech and other content and information-related problems, whether through litigation, counseling or other means.
