On Wednesday 15 July, BCLP hosted a roundtable webinar featuring three US-based general counsel to discuss the challenges facing legal departments in the current business climate. The panel featured Sharon Carmeli, Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel at BlueVine; Shelly Paioff, VP for Legal Affairs at Taboola; and Andrew Sherman, EVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Bank Leumi USA. BCLP partner Kenneth Henderson moderated the panel.

The panelists shared insights they have learned in responding to issues arising from COVID-19, including managing and communicating with global legal teams and executive teams, as well as navigating compliance and risk management demands, discussed shifts in the role of general counsel as a business decision-maker, shared tips for working with external law firms, and offered their views on what it takes to be successful as an in-house lawyer.

The event was presented by the firm's IL-US GC Network, a forum for Israel focused business and legal leaders, providing resources, networking opportunities, and information relating to the most critical aspects of transformative change in the global marketplace.
