Firm Announces Appointment of New DC Office Partner in Charge
Jun 16, 2022International law firm BCLP recently announced that Phil Bartz has assumed the role of partner in charge in the Washington, D.C., office.
Phil’s legal practice focuses on antitrust litigation, including the defense of antitrust class actions, complex commercial litigation, defense of federal and state investigations, and antitrust advice. During the course of his career, he has counseled Fortune 500 clients regarding antitrust litigation matters related to merger and acquisitions, distribution channel issues and antitrust compliance. He also has represented clients in matters involving the federal antitrust enforcement agencies.
Prior to joining BCLP, Phil held senior level positions in the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, serving as the deputy assistant attorney general for the Federal Programs Branch of the Division, which litigates on behalf of approximately 100 federal agencies.
Among his other leadership duties with BCLP, Phil previously served as co-leader (2011-2017) and then leader (2017-2021) of the firm’s former Antitrust, Franchise & Consumer Law Practice, which is now the Antitrust Practice. He also served as a member, and then chair, of the Recruiting Committee.
