Complex sale of university advised by multi-practice BCLP team

A cross-office, cross-practice team advised Beka Finance, based in Madrid, Spain, in its sale of Tampa-based Schiller International University (SIU) to Global Edu Services Limited (GEDU), a private limited company incorporated under the laws of England and Wales.

With campuses in Tampa, Madrid, Paris and Heidelberg, Schiller International University offers courses in international relations and diplomacy, business, tech and data, international tourism and sustainability. GEDU acquired SIU from KIP SIU LLC, a Florida limited liability company, Reinga Investments, S.L., a company incorporated under the laws of Spain and the sole member of the company, with Beka Financial Markets Holdings, S.L., a company incorporated under the laws of Spain, and Carlos Tejera Osuna, as guarantors.

The BCLP M&A and Corporate Finance deal team also worked across multiple practices including Data Privacy & Security, Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation, Employment, Tax and IP Disputes to help bring this transaction over the finish line.
