Colin Ashford & Richard Obank join BCLP’s Restructuring & Insolvency team

Colin’s experience spans the breadth of insolvency and restructuring with a focus on contentious issues and investigations and he has worked on some of the largest insolvencies in the UK.  This has included disputes and investigations on behalf of a range of insolvency practitioners, directors and creditors across sectors such as transport projects, retail and engineering.

Richard’s extensive career has seen him advising on high profile, complex distressed M&A mandates and restructurings, often with an international element, across a wide range of industry sectors. He acts regularly for corporates, lenders, PE investors, funds, financial advisors, and insolvency practitioners. He has a proven track record acting for boards of directors in situations where there is an urgent need to implement a restructuring with the aim of safeguarding the position of stakeholders and maximizing value.

As part of the wider Corporate & Finance Transactions practice, the Restructuring and Insolvency practice provides a range of business-advisory and crisis-management skills, including insightful and practical guidance to parties in situations where companies face the risks and implications of insolvency. The team regularly advises on a wide range of financial, corporate, and real estate restructuring and insolvency matters, with a particular focus on multi-jurisdictional, highly complex, and challenging cases. They are also able to regularly draw on the experience of other lawyers in the firm, including those focusing on antitrust, employee benefits, insurance, M&A, securities, tax and litigation.

The arrival of Colin and Richard follows on from the recent announcement of partner Mike Danielewsky, who is joining the Restructuring & Insolvency team in Frankfurt.
