BCLP Partner Claire Morel de Westgaver is set to speak at iTech’s 2023 World Technology Law Conference in Toronto on May 26.

The panel, titled “Judicial and Arbitral Technology Use,” will cover the evolving post-pandemic use of virtual hearing and technologies by judges and arbitrators. The panel will also cover the emerging use of Generative AI, such as ChatGPT, to prepare submissions and render rulings for judges and arbitrators. The lively panel discussion will include Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada Justice Mahmud Jamal, President of iTechLaw Peter Ruby, and other arbitrators and counsel.

The discussion comes at moment where lawyers across the globe are grappling with the use of artificial intelligence in courtrooms, for due diligence and in the writing of persuasive arguments, changing the way technology now finds itself in the legal profession.
