BCLP advises Aukera Real Estate AG on €150 million financing for Dutch portfolio
Aug 09, 2023International law firm BCLP has advised Aukera Real Estate AG, an owner-managed investment manager based in Essen, Germany, on a senior secured financing of over €150 million for a Dutch real estate portfolio. With this investment, the Luxembourg S.C.A. SICAV RAIF fund, managed by Aukera, finances a portfolio of over 65 properties and supports ESG optimizations on the existing properties. Borrowers are companies of the Amsterdam-based investor group Metroprop B.V., which is active in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
The real estate portfolio consists primarily of residential and commercial properties, with a significant proportion leased to local operators. The majority of the properties are located centrally in various Dutch cities, with over half in Amsterdam. The portfolio, which is almost fully leased, represents a secure source of cash flow for the fund’s institutional investors.
Lead BCLP partner Torsten Pokropp said, “We are pleased to have supported Aukera Real Estate in this significant financing. This transaction once again underscores that suitable opportunities continue to exist in the market.”
Aukera Real Estate was advised on all legal aspects of the transaction by BCLP under the leadership of partner Dr. Torsten Pokropp and counsel Constantin Alfes, as well as partner Martin Wilmsen. In addition to BCLP, the Dutch law firm Voorhorst Van Waegeningh Advocaten acted as advisor to Aukera. Inhouse, the transaction was advised by in-house lawyer Sven Seibold on behalf of Aukera Real Estate.
