BCLP was honored as a finalist in the American Lawyer Industry Awards for Best Professional Development Initiative, showcasing our commitment to pioneering professional growth within the legal industry.

The American Lawyer Industry Awards recognize outstanding achievements and contributions by individuals, law firms, and legal departments across various practice areas. These awards highlight exemplary work within the legal profession, honoring those who set new standards of excellence and innovation. The awards serve as a platform to celebrate meaningful advancements in the profession, inspiring others across the industry.

BCLP Podium, the firm’s groundbreaking leadership communications program, exemplifies BCLP’s dedication to elevating professional development and empowering women leaders in the legal field. Designed in collaboration with Ginger Leadership Communications, the program is tailored to equip women partners with vital storytelling and thought leadership skills, focusing on how to craft compelling narratives, make ideas memorable, and leave a lasting impression—skills essential for career advancement.

Throughout the 12-week immersive experience, BCLP Podium brought together women lawyers from around the globe. The program paired the firm’s lawyers with clients from major organizations, offering training designed to help participants harness the power of their voice and integrate this confidence into their personal brand strategy.

“The program is a proactive commitment to supporting the next generation of female leaders,” said Partner Lisa Mayhew. “It provides the tools and reinforces the importance of confidence as a spokesperson in various roles—whether in the courtroom or as a team leader.”

Participants from organizations including Bayer, BT, Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank, Emerson, Enterprise, and National Grid engaged in an intensive learning journey that culminated in a TED Talk-style showcase; with each participant delivering a live 10-minute talk, embodying the skills they honed throughout the program focused on communicating with impact.

“We were thrilled to be shortlisted for our work on BCLP Podium in the Best Professional Development Initiative category at The American Lawyer Industry Awards,” said Daisy Reeves, Global Inclusion & Diversity Client Relationship Partner. “Harnessing the power of the spoken word and using their authentic voices, the women of the BCLP Podium cohort have further developed their leadership skills, and built a new professional network of support. The inaugural class of BCLP Podium have already gone on to make a tremendous, lasting impact in their organizations—and beyond. It was exciting for us to be part of this groundbreaking program, reflective of our firm’s values in action.”
