BCLP has been recognized in the UK Legal 500 Green Guide 2025 for the second time. The UK chapter of the guide showcases law firms leading the way in sustainability, reflecting the evolving landscape as ESG and the green transition continues to reshape the market.

The guide recognized BCLP for its "expertise regarding clean energy transactions, low-carbon infrastructure projects, and green real estate". In the infrastructure space, EE&I Practice Head Mark Richards is noted for his work for Downing Sustainable Investment on "its £51m acquisition, on behalf of a UK charity, of the land and lease income related to a 200 MW operational onshore wind farm in Scotland". Furthermore, the guide highlights the firm's instruction by National Grid on its network infrastructure project led by Practice Group Head for Planning and Zoning Christian Drage. Once complete, the project will support the ability of electricity networks to deploy the UK’s growing renewable energy production reliably.

Our firm’s pro-bono advisory work on the establishment of the Wendling Beck Environment Project, a 2,000-acre nature recovery project in Norfolk that creates habitats and supports nature-driven processes on a large scale, is also showcased. This work is being led by Partner Luke Mines.

On responsible business, our ESG Action Board are working towards setting SBTi targets for scope 1, 2 and, 3 emissions.
