BCLP Construction Disputes partner, Shy Jackson, will be a featured speaker at a webinar hosted by the Society of Construction Law Singapore on 5 December 2024.

Shy’s session will focus on "NEC4: Collaborative Features and Implementation in Singapore and the Region," which will include key features of the NEC4, as well as his insights on developing and implementing them successfully. Shy will also share a number of case studies and recent legal developments on the NEC, in conjunction with their practical implications.

The webinar will be hosted in the context of Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (“BCA”) promoting the adoption of collaborative contracting throughout the country. The BCA announced in April 2024 that it would be launching the NEC4 contract for construction and engineering projects by way of a set of NEC4 Y (SG) clauses, which will align the NEC4 contract with Singaporean law.

A frequent speaker and author on NEC contracts, Shy is widely regarded as a leading specialist in the field and is highlighted in Chambers & Partners for “know[ing] NEC contracts back to front." In 2020, Shy was appointed as a member of the NEC Contract Board in recognition of his experience in advising on the NEC contract and his involvement in projects using NEC.
