BCLP Partner Nominated by ASIL to Serve on Executive Council
Jan 27, 2022BCLP Partner Pedro J. Martinez-Fraga has been nominated by the American Society of International Law (ASIL) to serve on ASIL’s Executive Council, commencing April 11. Pedro is expected to serve a one-year term arising from a vacancy and, should he so elect, a full three-year term thereafter.
ASIL is one of the largest and most prestigious international law societies in the United States and globally. It is a nonprofit, non-partisan, educational membership organization founded in 1906. It was chartered by the Congress of the United States in 1950. ASIL holds Special Consultative Status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. The organization also is a constituent society of the American Council of Learned Societies. For more information, click here.
Pedro is the co-leader of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner’s International Arbitration Practice. He serves on the Advisory Council to the Restatement (Third) of International Commercial Arbitration of the American Law Institute. He was selected to teach the 2023 Special Course on private international law at The Hague Academy of International Law. Pedro is a leading practitioner in the field of international arbitration. He is a Presidential Appointee to the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes.
