BCLP Partner Lawyer Featured in Commercial Real Estate Finance Council Women’s Spotlight

BCLP Partner Varuna Bhattacharyya has been profiled in the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC) Women’s Spotlight.

In her profile, Varuna shares insights from her nearly 20-year career in commercial real estate finance. A partner at BCLP since 2022, she represents financial institutions and real estate funds in a range of complex transactions, including single-lender and agented multi-lender construction and permanent loans, mezzanine loans, and other leveraged financings across local and national markets. She regularly advises lenders and distressed borrowers on workouts and foreclosure alternatives, including modifications, note sales, forbearances, and other secured creditor remedies for nonperforming loans across various asset classes.

When asked about the best piece of advice she’s ever received, Varuna shared: “Faith and fear both demand you believe in something you cannot see. You choose.” She added, “Both personally and professionally, everything I’ve truly valued achieving has been on the other side of my fears.”
