BCLP Hosts Data Center Deal-Making Summit
May 13, 2021Data centers are one of the hottest topics in the market right now, but with travel and physical meeting restrictions in place, getting introduced to the right people to make deals can be a challenge.
BCLP global Data Center & Digital Infrastructure Team Leader Jim Grice recently hosted a 90-minute virtual summit focused on the U.S. market and targeted toward data center funds, private equity firms and other global investor sources along with data center owners and operators to share timely industry education with the potential for deal-making between participants.
The summit was very well received with over 60 participants attending and featured a keynote address and breakout sessions hosted by industry leaders in each subject area, with additional commentary provided by several BCLP lawyers, including:
- Keynote and update on the state of the U.S. market, led by Jonathan Atkin, managing director, global head of communications infrastructure at RBC Capital Markets
- "Finding Value in Data Center Acquisitions and M&A," led by Christof Hammerli, executive vice president, head of data centers and digital infrastructure at Landmark Dividend, with support from BCLP Partners Jim Grice and Barry Gross
- "What Makes this Special Asset Class so Special? Unique Risk Elements for Data Center Underwriting," led by Justin Kline, vice president, head of portfolio development at Legacy Investing, LLC, with support from BCLP Partner Michael McKinley and Counsel Jennie Wynne
- "Leveraging the Data Center: Trends in Data Center Debt," led by Jeremy Wolfe, managing director at CIT, with support from BCLP Partners Beth Haden and Eddie Lowry
- "The Shadow Data Center Inventory: Corporate Data Center Divestitures," led by John Ghirardelli, senior vice president at Macquarie Capital, with support from BCLP Partners Jim Grice and Michael McKinley and Counsel Jennie Wynne
