BCLP Earns Perfect Score on HRC Corporate Equality Index 2025
Jan 20, 2025For the 16th consecutive year, international law firm BCLP has achieved a perfect score of 100% on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s premiere benchmarking report evaluating corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. The firm joins 765 U.S. businesses receiving the HRCF’s Equality 100 Award, recognizing leaders in LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion.
The 2025 results highlight the ongoing efforts of U.S.-based companies to advance LGBTQ+ friendly workplace policies both domestically and abroad. Since its inception, participation in the CEI has grown exponentially— from 319 participants in the first survey to 1,449 in 2025. This year, 98% of CEI-rated businesses offer non-discrimination protections specific to gender identity, a record-breaking milestone.
“BCLP remains steadfast in our commitment to increasing diversity, enhancing retention at every level of the firm, and strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where all firm employees feel valued, respected and connected to our core values,” said Global Director of Inclusion & Diversity and Recruitment, Lloyd Stephenson. “We are proud to once again earn a 100% score in this report, which is widely regarded as the gold standard for evaluating LGBTQ+ workplace policies.”
The CEI rates employers providing vital protections to over 22 million U.S. workers, including Fortune magazine’s 500 largest publicly traded businesses, American Lawyer magazine’s top 200 revenue-grossing law firms (AmLaw 200), and hundreds of publicly and privately held mid- to large-sized businesses.
The CEI criteria are based on four key pillars:
- Non-discrimination policies across business entities
- Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families
- Supporting an inclusive culture
- Corporate social responsibility
