BCLP have advised accountancy and business advisory firm BDO on its London headquarters move to the M Building, Marylebone.

BDO has signed initially for 220,000 square feet to house its 5,000 London-based employees, and plans to relocate from its current location on Baker Street in 2027.

The M Building is the former Debenhams store on Oxford Street and is being redeveloped by Swedish investor Ramsbury. BDO will be the majority office occupier in the building which will also contain 72,000 square feet of new retail space.

Alan Wight said “It was a pleasure to assist one of the country’s largest accountancy firms with its move to this landmark building forming part of the much awaited rejuvenation of Oxford Street.”

Paul Eagland, BDO’s Managing Partner, said: “It’s exciting to have secured such a great building, which helps us meet many of our commitments: to our people, to our clients and to our planet.

“Working together is what powers our business, and we remain committed to offering flexible, modern spaces where we can learn together, share ideas and collectively deliver work to our clients. We have a strong attachment to the West End and our new UK headquarters will provide a modern, flexible working space in the beating heart of the regenerated Oxford Street area.

“It marks the start of a new chapter in BDO’s history and gives us a new home from which to grow our UK business in a responsible and sustainable way.”

The BCLP team was led by Alan Wight and Juliet Thomas (Core Real Estate) with assistance from Elasah Mastin, Ed Le Maistre and Katie Philpot (Core Real Estate), Nick Harding (Planning), Mark Godfrey (Construction) and Morgan James (Tax).
