International law firm BCLP announced today the addition of Scott Cummings as a partner in the Washington, D.C., office. Scott is the latest member of a large group whose move to BCLP was announced last week, led by highly regarded IP Partner Song Jung.

Joining with Scott from Dentons is Counsel Frank Miskiel and two patent professionals.

Formerly head of the highly ranked Post-Grant Group within Dentons’ Intellectual Property and Technology Practice, Scott also has eight years of experience as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He has significant first-chair Patent Office trial experience and has earned an impressive string of victories on behalf of both patent owners and patent challengers before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).

Scott's practice includes patent litigation matters, U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, and counseling. He has experience in a number of diverse technology areas such as nanotechnology, medical devices, metallurgy, inorganic chemistry, bearings, oil and gas exploration, military hardware and business methods.

“We are glad to now have Scott on board at BCLP. His significant PTAB work along with his deep patent litigation experience is a key strength of the capabilities we have brought to the firm and we look forward to working together with our BCLP colleagues to service the needs of our clients around the world,” noted new Global Chair of Patents, Song Jung.

Scott is the sixth IP Partner joining with Song, as part of the team that also includes Partners Mark R. Kressloff, Bumrae Cho, Yong Choi, Tyler Goodwyn and Bruce Vance.
