Leading international law firm BCLP announced today that Perry Yam has joined the Corporate and Finance Transactions practice as a partner in the London office, focusing on private equity.

With over 30 years of extensive experience across various investment sectors, Perry specializes in private equity buyout transactions and has worked with sponsor clients, management teams, and investee companies on acquisitions, buy-and-build strategies, and exit transactions. His client base includes some of the most active sponsors in the mid-market. Recent notable transactions include Halifax Group’s acquisition of Sodexo’s Worldwide Home Care division, ByBox’s acquisition of Pelipod Limited and OAG’s acquisition of Infare from Ventiga Capital, among others.  ByBox is a portfolio company of Francisco Partners and OAG is a portfolio company of Vitruvian Partners.

Prior to joining BCLP, Perry was a partner at Mayer Brown where he built and led the firm’s private equity practice over eight years. Before that, he was Head of Private Equity for Europe and the Middle East at Reed Smith, following nearly two decades at SJ Berwin. With a reputation for strong leadership and business development skills, Perry has developed high-performing teams and mid-market focused PE practices at each firm.

Perry’s appointment is an important next step to building out BCLP’s Corporate and Finance Transactions practice, a key growth area for the firm, and in particular will further enhance the firm’s transatlantic offering in the private equity sector.

Perry Yam, Partner for Private Equity, said, “I was drawn to BCLP because of its ambitious growth strategy and the opportunity to expand the private equity practice in both the UK and the US. I look forward to leveraging my connections in these regions to create business opportunities and attract talent that will enhance our international private equity offering.”

Carol Osborne, Partner and Global Department Leader for Corporate and Finance Transactions, said, “Perry’s extensive experience will be a great addition to the firm, and we are thrilled he is joining our corporate transactions practice in London. Private equity is an important part of our growth strategy, especially serving sponsors in the mid-market. His arrival boosts our bench strength and enhances our ability to serve existing and new clients globally.”
