International law firm BCLP announces today its expansion into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with plans to open offices in both Riyadh and Al-Khobar. The move is an important next step for the firm’s growth strategy in the Middle East, where BCLP has been established for nearly twenty years.

Othman Alshmry and Sam Eversman will join the firm as partners to lead its operations in Saudi Arabia. Othman will also take up the role of Managing Partner for BCLP’s offices in the Kingdom. Bringing extensive experience in the Gulf region, BCLP partners Farida Sadiq and Richard Dupay will lead the transition into the jurisdiction alongside Dubai and Abu Dhabi Managing Partner, Richard Davies, who has more than 20 years of Middle East construction projects experience in both transactions and disputes.

The two offices will offer the full spectrum of legal services across multiple sectors, including lawyers fully qualified to practice Saudi Arabian law. BCLP is also among the few international law firms to open an office in the port city of Al-Khobar, underscoring its commitment to infrastructure projects in the region.

Bolstering BCLP’s international offering and building upon its existing work in Saudi Arabia, this expansion enables BCLP to bring its leading reputation to a region experiencing a surge in client demand. With established expertise in real estate, corporate, projects and construction, and broader litigation, BCLP is strategically positioned to support multi-billion-dollar projects and attract new clients across both private and public sectors, including opportunities linked to the Vision 2030 plan.

Othman Alshmry’s practice has a strong focus on litigation, dispute resolution, and arbitration. Othman has more than 20 years' experience litigating cases in the Commercial and Shari’ah Courts, the Board of Grievances, and various other judicial and quasi-judicial bodies in Saudi Arabia.

Formerly a partner at legacy Bryan Cave, Sam brings over three decades of expertise in Saudi regulatory and commercial advisory work within Saudi Arabia. He assists clients across the entire business lifecycle, offering strategic insights on market entry, structuring, establishment, and operations in both private and public sector procurement in several sectors including energy, defense and architecture/engineering services.

Steven M. Baumer, Chief Executive Officer at BCLP, commented, “Othman and Sam are excellent additions to the partnership, and they will bring deep knowledge of the region to their leadership roles as well as bolster our client offering. We have been working successfully with both Othman and Sam for many years, and we are pleased to now have a roster of four accomplished partners leading our offices in Saudi Arabia. Growing in KSA is a crucial part of the firm’s growth strategy.”

Chris de Pury, Head of Strategic Growth Team at BCLP, commented “We are thrilled to open our doors in Saudi Arabia, and this launch further establishes our commitment to working in the country and maintaining and developing relationships with our Saudi Arabian client base. This is a huge opportunity for BCLP to gain a distinct, competitive advantage internationally given its strong track record in leading real estate, construction, and infrastructure projects across the full spectrum of legal services.”

Othman S. Alshmry, Saudi Arabia Country Managing Partner at BCLP, added, “I am very excited to support BCLP’s launch of two offices in Saudi Arabia.  Our team in the region and BCLP’s globally are well-positioned to provide best in class legal services to our clients in Saudi Arabia across all business sectors in this vibrant, fast-paced market.”
