BCLP announces 2023 counsel promotions

New counsel are:
Dirk Ehleben, Berlin
Dirk focuses his practice on real estate transactions. He has particular experience acting for multinational clients in the real estate private equity business, whom he advises on all aspects of their real estate investments in acquisitions, joint ventures, project developments, lettings and subsequent sales, with an emphasis on the logistics/light industrial and office sectors. He is also highly experienced in advising funds and other institutional investors in transactions regarding their core flagship assets.
Ann Ferebee, Atlanta
Ann’s practice involves complex commercial litigation, including corporate, regulatory and securities law issues, ERISA and fiduciary disputes, agency enforcement proceedings, internal corporate investigations and class actions. She has defended companies, financial institutions and individuals in criminal investigations, as well as in regulatory investigations, civil enforcement actions, business disputes and class actions.
Goli Mahdavi, San Francisco
Goli’s practice is focused on data privacy and cyber security issues. She counsels clients on all aspects of compliance with local and international data privacy and security laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as COPPA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM matters, and emerging laws and regulations around the world. Goli works as a strategic business partner to her clients to provide a holistic approach to comprehensive compliance projects, which include data mapping, drafting and implementing various privacy-centric policies, and negotiating third-party agreements including software-as-a-service agreements and other commercial agreements. She is a certified privacy professional through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (CIPP/US/E).
Joseph Poppen, San Francisco
Joseph has a broad litigation practice, often involving complex commercial, unfair competition, trade secret, products liability and business torts litigation. He appears in the state and federal trial and appellate courts. He has been certified as an appellate specialist by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization since 2017, and he regularly appears in the California Court of Appeal. He also maintains an active trial court practice.
Steve Trubac, Chicago
Steve has significant litigation experience in both state and federal courts and has assisted clients in matters ranging from breach of contract actions to patent and copyright infringement actions, insurance coverage declaratory judgment lawsuits, environmental litigation actions and securities class action lawsuits. Much of his practice is concentrated on trademark prosecution and enforcement. He represents and advises clients in trademark prosecution of domestic and international trademark applications, and represents clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the USPTO, trademark infringement suits in federal court, and in domain name disputes before the World Intellectual Property Organization.
