BCLP Advises on Joint Venture in London for Sustainable Property Developer

International law firm BCLP has advised a joint venture between Edge, a sustainable property developer, and Mitsubishi Estate London on the acquisition of 125 Shaftesbury Avenue.

BCLP also advised Edge on the joint venture and management arrangements opposite Mitsubishi. The acquisition and JV marks the latest milestone in Edge’s growth, the third in a string of recent high-profile London site acquisitions on which BCLP has advised. These include the acquisition of the London Stock Exchange site for the development of EDGE Shoreditch, and the acquisition and development of the best-in-class sustainable office tower EDGE London Bridge.

Chris de Pury, BCLP Global Head of Real Estate and client relationship partner for Edge, said: “We were delighted to work with Edge and Mitsubishi on this deal which has been closely monitored by the whole market. It is arguably the most significant development site acquisition in London this year and hopefully is viewed as a sign that confidence is returning back into the market.”
