Mar 21, 2022For more than 20 years, BCLP Partner John W. Amberg has authored an annual article for Los Angeles Lawyer magazine that evaluates significant developments in California legal ethics during the past year. His current ethics roundup in the March 2022 edition outlines instances of attorney malpractice and incivility “against a backdrop of continuing pandemic, ethics violations at the highest level nationally, and attempts to close the justice gap within California.”
John is a member of BCLP’s Commercial Dispute Resolution, Class Action and Product Liability Practices, and is chair of the firmwide Ethics Committee. He has tried and arbitrated cases throughout California and serves as an expert witness on professional liability and legal ethics matters. He is a former chair of the California State Bar’s Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct and a former chair and current member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee.
Los Angeles Lawyer magazine is a publication of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Reading the article and answering the accompanying test questions earns California lawyers one hour of MCLE legal ethics credit.
